Should exceptionally good students be allowed to skip grades?

(上記TOPIC、英語で意見を論理的に述べる技術とトレーニング第7章より引用)

Speech

I think exceptionally good students should be allowed to skip grades.
Firstly, it can help them to harness their potential to its full extent. Not allowing them to skip grades destroys their individuality while individual ability is being valued more and more. Some people may say that even though they are smart, children who skip grades may miss learning certain things, but since students don’t remember everything they are taught, these exceptional students can compensate for things they don’t know with diligence and trying to catch up with older children. Under the circumstances, it can be a real benefit if exceptionally good students are allowed to skip grades.
Secondly, putting exceptionally good students with older children can be good for their social skills because trying to get along with older children is good social skills training. Moreover exceptionally good students should not be held back academically because of concerns about how they will socialize with older children because like I said, trying to get along with older children is good social skills training. Therefore social concerns may be left out of consideration.
As I mentioned, for the aforesaid two reasons, I think exceptionally good students should be allowed to skip grades.
