Essay

I don’t think there should be an age limitation on the punishment for juvenile crimes for the following three reasons.
The first reason is that if there is not any age limitation on the punishment for juvenile crimes, juvenile delinquencies will decrease. Some minors take advantage of the fact that they are not be punished as severely as adults. On the other hand, stricter punishment will encourage minors not to commit any crimes.
The second reason is that it is unreasonable not to punish juvenile criminals as severely as adults just because they are minors. It does not matter how old they are. Whether they are minors or not, people who commit crimes, commit crimes, people who don’t commit crimes do not commit crimes. Moreover we should consider the feelings of crime victims first, not juvenile criminals.
The last reason is that the elimination of crimes should be the first priority. Some people say that juvenile criminals should not be punished as severely as adults because we should give them the opportunity of rehabilitation. However, as I said, the first priority is the elimination of crimes, not the rehabilitation of criminals.
As I mentioned, for the aforementioned three reasons, I don’t think there should be an age limitation on the punishment for juvenile crimes.
